Took this picture of our yard the other day. As you can see, the snow is finally all gone, leaving behind a muddy swamp! Do I care? Not one bit, I am so happy to see the ground at last! There have been lots of sandhill cranes and canadian geese flying overhead, a sure sign that spring is just around the corner. For me though, it's not officially spring until the redwind blackbirds arrive, I love to hear them calling to each other up and down the road. The only thing I don't like about spring is when the peepers come out in the pond across the street. Catching frogs is one of our cats favorite sports, and every spring and early summer I end up having to chuck quite a few frogs out the front door!Thursday, March 12, 2009
